Owlcat Games Announces Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy

New CRPG Revealed Alongside Upcoming Rogue Trader Expansion and Season Pass 2

Cyprus, Nicosia, May 22, 2025 — Today at the Warhammer Skulls showcase, Owlcat Games unveiled a new chapter in their exploration of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, announcing a brand-new party-based CRPG, Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy. Future content plans for their highly successful Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader were also revealed — the second major story expansion, Lex Imperialis, and Season Pass 2 with two additional story-rich DLCs and an appearance customization pack.

Become an Inquisitor in Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy

Step into the shadows as an acolyte of the Inquisition in Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy, a second narrative-driven tactical RPG set in the beloved grimdark universe. Set against the backdrop of the Noctis Aeterna and the mystery of the Tyrant Star, players will lead a warband of diverse companions in a desperate battle against heresy and corruption — from loyal Imperial subjects, such as a veteran Guardsman from the death world of Catachan, to nefarious xenos, including a bird-like Kroot mercenary. With intricate investigations, a turn-based combat system, and choices that carry grave consequences, Dark Heresy is set to deliver an atmospheric dive into the brutality and mysticism of one of the Imperium’s most feared organizations. The game greatly expands on the ideas introduced in Rogue Trader and features fully voiced dialogues.

Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy is coming to Windows PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store) and consoles (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series). The players can already add the game to their Wishlist as well as support the development process by purchasing a Founder’s Pack on the Official Website.

Bring Justice to the Koronus Expanse with Lex Imperialis Expansion

Lex Imperialis, the second major expansion for Warhammer 40,00: Rogue Trader, thrusts players into the iron grip of Imperial Law. A new 15-hour storyline introduces the Adeptus Arbites, a faction of incorruptible enforcers, and a new companion — the grim and relentless Solomorne Anthar. With battle Familiars like cybernetic eagles and cyber-mastiffs, this DLC enriches the gameplay and narrative layers of Rogue Trader and will be available to all players on June 24, 2025.

New Stories Come to Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader with Season Pass 2

Also announced is Season Pass 2 for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, bundling two new expansions and an appearance customization pack. The third major addition to the game will allow players to enter a Necron vault curated by the iconic Trazyn the Infinite, challenge ancient guardians, and uncover relics tied to the Von Valancius legacy. The fourth one will let them explore the Processional of the Damned —a surreal voidship graveyard, in a descent into madness and mystery. Each of these DLCs will feature a new companion character, new quests deeply integrated into the main storyline, new mechanics, and deliver around 15 hours of gameplay.

Players who pre-purchase the new Season Pass right now will receive an exclusive Appearance Pack. This includes new hairstyles and augmetic implants that become instantly available for customizing their Lord Captain.

During the Warhammer Skulls Sale, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is available at 50% off across all platforms: Windows PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store, together with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X.

About Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader

Players will take on the role of a Rogue Trader, a scion of an ancient dynasty of daring privateers who reign over their own trade protectorate and explore the fringes of Imperial space with the blessing of the Emperor Himself. By virtue of their Warrant of Trade, the Rogue Trader is endowed with privileges and power beyond imagination as well as the task of expanding the borders of the Imperium. At their disposal is a gargantuan voidship of immense strength and innumerable personnel ready to follow their leader without question. Show your subjects mercy or disdain, stay faithful to the Emperor or consort with the enemies of Humanity — the Rogue Trader’s every decision sends ripples across entire star systems, changing the in-game world and those who inhabit it.
